El Paseo Shopping and Dining
El Paseo is the heart of Palm Desert, and it’s just minutes from our stays. This palm lined street stretches for more than a mile with boutiques, art galleries, jewelry stores and some of the best restaurants in the valley.
It’s easy to spend a whole afternoon here. Window shop, stop for coffee, browse the galleries, then stay for dinner. At night the palm trees light up and the street feels like a little party.
Don’t miss
- The Gardens on El Paseo: an open air center with fountains, shops and restaurants like Pacifica and Tommy Bahama
- Public art: sculptures line the median along the whole street
- Galleries: great for midcentury and desert art lovers
Good to know
- Drive from our stays: about 5 minutes
- Parking: free, with lots behind the shops
- Dogs: leashed pups are welcome on the sidewalks
- Best time: late afternoon into evening
Our tip: catch a show at the McCallum Theatre nearby, then have a late dinner on El Paseo.
